🛡️ Shield Timing & Ghost Marching
Kill Days, PvP events, and cross-server wars can catch you off-guard — unless you’re prepared. This guide shows how to use shields effectively, ghost march your army, and bait attacks safely.
🕒 When to Use Shields
- During Kill Events or Cross-Server Wars
- If you’re offline and near an enemy hive or Outpost
- When you’re out of Virus Resistance or troops are healing
🛡️ Shield Durations
Using shields is essential to protect your base during PvP windows, Kill Events, or while offline. These are the available shield types in Season 1:

| 8h Shield | Short PvP windows, work or nap coverage |
| 12h Shield | Extended sessions, half-day protection |
| 24h Shield | Full-day offline safety |
| 3-Day Shield | Weekend trips, long-term inactivity |
💡 Always keep 2–3 shields in your inventory. Purchase them from the Item Store, Alliance Shop, or receive them from event rewards.
⚠️ Important Notes
- Activating a new shield overwrites any existing shield.
- During War Fever (after PvP actions), you cannot activate a shield — plan your protection ahead of time.
👻 Ghost Marching
Ghost marching means sending your troops on a long-duration march to keep them safe without shielding.
- Send to a far tile or NPC and cancel later
- Ideal if shields are on cooldown
- Troops are safe as long as they’re marching
⚠️ Never cancel a ghost march if you’re under attack!
🎯 Bait Strategy
Sometimes, you want to look vulnerable to trap attackers into wasting rallies:
- Keep your base unshielded, but with troops ghosted
- Wait for a rally or scout
- Pop shield + reinforcements at the last second
- Works best for 💳 Light Spenders or 🐋 Whales with good reaction speed

💳 Light Spenders
- Rotate between shield and bait mode
- Ghost march while farming or during cooldowns
- Time shields with war declarations
🐋 Whales
- Use bait to trap enemies and trigger rally fails
- Keep troops pre-buffed before war windows
- Shield only when under heavy pressure or offline

- Do you have a virus stack? → Shield or heal first.
- Troops idle at home? → Ghost or protect.
- Going offline during PvP hours? → Always shield.
- Rally just finished? → Use a quick shield before second wave.
