🛡️ Defensive Tactics in Season 1

Holding cities, strongholds, and territory is just as important as capturing them. Season 1 rewards well-coordinated defenses — especially when Virus Resistance and profession skills are used wisely.

🧱 Garrison Defense

  • The first troop march into a city becomes the garrison lead
  • The garrison leader’s stats, gear, and profession skills affect the entire defense
  • Assign the strongest whale or top War Leader to anchor defenses

Reinforcement Tips

  • Everyone should send troops — even F2P matter here
  • Prioritize same troop type as the garrison leader’s march
  • Use speedups to reinforce quickly if the city is under siege

🧪 Virus Defense

  • Season 1 introduces infection stacks during city wars and PvP
  • Infection reduces damage and weakens troops
  • Keep Virus Resistance above 8000–10,000 to avoid major penalties
  • Cleanse allies using the Virus Airplane system (1 stack per flight)

💡 Have an Engineer ready to drop Friendly Shield or reduce infection with healing skills.

🏰 Outpost Defense

  • Outposts cannot be rallied, but can be attacked directly
  • They’re best used offensively, but if held:
    • Reinforce only with durable troops
    • Keep nearby allies ready to assist
    • Treat them like a forward military base — not a throwaway

🛡️ Base & City Defense Tips

  • Rotate garrisons based on time zones and activity
  • Stack troops in high-value cities (L5–L6) — don’t overcommit to L1-L2
  • Shield personal bases on Kill Days (especially during cross-server war)
  • Use ghost marching (long walks) to protect your army if shields are on cooldown

🧪 Profession Skills in Defense

ProfessionKey Defensive Skills
War LeaderFortify Defense, Reinforce Strengthen, Urgent Cure
EngineerFriendly Shield, Healing Expert, Friendly Aid

Coordinate skill use in real-time: pop Fortify Defense just before a big rally hits, or shield a base in danger.

⚠️ Mistakes to Avoid

  • Leaving cities ungarrisoned during war windows
  • Not coordinating garrison leads
  • Reinforcing with the wrong troop type
  • Underestimating virus damage effects
  • Letting strongholds go undefended — they are your map anchors!
