🧭 Hive Layouts & Base Placement
Your alliance’s hive layout is your first line of defense during Kill Days, PvP events, and city wars. A smart setup minimizes losses, optimizes reinforcement timing, and helps manage virus infection spread.
🧱 What Makes a Good Hive?
- Bases are close together, but not clustered in straight lines
- Whales 🐋 are centered, with Light Spenders 💳 and F2P around them
- There’s 1–2 tile gaps between groups to limit virus splash
- Reinforcement targets (city/stronghold) are nearby or tile-linked
🧪 Anti-Virus Bomb Design
To reduce virus infection stacks from Suicide Squad attacks or missile bombs:
- Avoid tight lines or plus-sign shapes
- Use offset box patterns (like checkerboard)
- Don’t group 4+ bases in a 2×2 square — that’s splash bait
📌 Virus bombs hit up to 5+ bases if poorly clustered. Keep gaps!
🏛️ Base Roles in the Hive
Position | Recommended Player Type | Purpose |
---|---|---|
Center Anchor | 🐋 Whale | Reinforce hub, bait rallies |
Mid Ring | 💳 Light Spender | Quick reinforcers, backup anchor |
Outer Ring | 🧑🌾 F2P | Scout, timer, rally filler |
Everyone should be within 2–3 tiles of garrison targets if possible.
🧠 Tips by Player Type
🧑🌾 F2P
- Stay near city and whale bases for reinforce speed
- Avoid leading rallies or exposing yourself on Kill Days
- Use 1-tile gaps to avoid virus chain splashes
💳 Light Spenders
- Flex between reinforce and rally duties
- Stay near center whales to act as a backup garrison
- Use speedups during defense
🐋 Whales
- Anchor the hive from the center
- Port first on city sieges, tank rallies or bombs
- Shield only when completely out of troops or unavailable
🚀 Deployment Prep
- Place hive 1–2 tiles from the city or stronghold
- Avoid high-traffic PvP zones if unprepared
- Always bring: 1–2 base relocators, shields, and virus heals
